Getting started

Turn protection on and confirm the Guard page shows it active.

Where can I download Lava?
Lava Security is an iPhone app, distributed through Apple. There is no public App Store listing yet, so for now access is through a TestFlight build. If you need access or have trouble installing, email support@lavasecurity.app.
How do I turn protection on?
Open Lava Security, go to Guard, and tap the main protection button. Guard is home base and shows whether protection is on, so check that it reads as protected after you tap.
Why does iOS ask to add a VPN profile?
That prompt is expected. Lava uses Apple's on-device network extension to check domain names right on your phone, and iOS labels that a VPN profile even though it is a local filter that stays on-device and does not route your traffic through Lava Security servers.
Do I need an account or signup?
No. Core Lava Security protection does not require an account; just turn it on from Guard. An optional account is only needed for features like encrypted backup, which you can set up later in Account.
Does Lava send my browsing history off my phone?
Domain filtering decisions happen locally on your iPhone, and Lava Security does not receive your routine browsing history or a live stream of the domains your device contacts. The app does contact Lava Security servers to fetch catalog and safety guardrail updates, and may fetch third-party blocklists from their source URLs, but those requests are not used as a browsing-history feed. You can review what stays on-device under Privacy & Data.
